I am a Software Engineer who specialises in building and designing dynamic User Interfaces. Currently, I am a Staff Software Engineer at Itron Inc. focused on upgrading legacy software to the latest web technologies.
Hello, I am Savinu and I enjoy creating things for the web. I have done my Masters in Computer Science from National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) in 2018. My bachelor's degree is awarded by Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT).
I used to design logos, graphics and layouts as a hobby. My interest in UI development started when I tried to code some SVG motion graphics using vanilla JavaScript. Already into graphic designing and also having a computer Science background motivated me to create responsive User Interfaces utilising my designing and coding skills.
From then on, I have upskilled myself by learning JavaScript in depth, and also having a good grip on UI technologies such as Angular and ReactJS. I had the opportunity to work on Angular 11 in a real world scenario and gain a lot of practical experience with it at Itron. I am now one of the core members of the UI sub team responsible for the upgrade of one of our legacy applications to Angular 11 which involves a total UI rewrite.
